Build vocabulary to support reading comprehension using Word of the Week.

What’s Included:

• 52 vocabulary words included so you can choose the words that best fit your classroom, student needs, and instruction.
• 4 categories: STEM, art, writing, brain puzzles. The categories are the basis of what I have my students do with the words, because doing is important for understanding.
• 4 quick reference pages with the word, definition, and activity overview to help you decide which word to use.
• 52 lesson guides with an overview of what to do with the word each day. Each day’s lesson should take 10-15 minutes, but can be easily tailored to build vocabulary in your classroom.
• 52 printable word pages (one for each word) to use for your display board, interactive notebooks, guided reading lesson, or more. Students can color the word, add drawings, write synonyms/antonyms, and create sentences to further support building vocabulary. 

Instruction to build vocabulary is essential for reading comprehension. But, if you’re schedule is like mine, teaching multiple words in depth within a week is a challenge. So, I started adding a Word of the Week to our weekly vocabulary list.
